For the 2025-2026 Season (Season 9) This contract begins on the date of signing and ends on June 1st 2026. Renewal membership for the 2026-2027 season is by Board invitation.
    1.       Upon joining the organization, the member agrees to pay all dues and fees by the deadlines set forth by the Board.
    2.      Annual dues are non-refundable.
    3.      The member will abide by all attendance policies regarding rehearsals, appearances and philanthropic events. Failure to             do so may result in the inability to perform and/or having their membership terminated.
    4.      Upon review of the costume guidelines, the member will sign in acknowledgment of the policies and their agreement to               adhere to the set costuming/parading rules.
    5.      If the member smokes, they agree to step away from lineup/the group at events to do so. The member agrees that there             will be NO SMOKING on the Faeler, in lineup or near the group at events.
    6.      Failure to meet the responsibilities of membership for more than 2 seasons may result in termination of the member. The           member will be notified of termination in writing. The member may appeal the termination by submitting a letter of                   appeal to the Board within 10 days of the letter of termination being issued.
    7.      The member has the right to resign at any time by submitting a resignation request by letter or email to the Board.
    8.      The member acknowledges that while the drinking of alcoholic beverages is permitted, each member is expected to act               responsibly and decently while representing the organization. Visible intoxication and conduct will not be permitted.                 The Board may take action such as pulling you from a route/performance, asking you to sit in the vehicle pulling the                 Faeler or on the Faeler or ask you to leave. Refusal to follow the Founders' instructions or any incidents with alcohol may           result in suspension or termination of membership.
    9.      Each member is welcomed and encouraged to attend all practices and watch all videos to learn the set choreography for             dancing members. Each member will be required to attend the audition prior to a large parade or event as determined by           the board. Should attendance of said audition be impossible, any member wishing to submit a video of them performing             ALL required dances for consideration of inclusion to said parade or event, may do so up to 1 day after the audition date.

Each member understands that the Dance Committee and Board will make the final decisions on which members will be             doing choreography from the results of each audition. The decision is final and must be respected. Should a member not           make the cut for the choreography, they are very much wanted and welcome to walk in the parade in full costume and               enjoy.
    10.     Parades that will have auditions prior to acceptance as a dancer include but are not limited to: Krewe of Boo, St.
Francisville/Christmas or Holiday parades, Krampus & Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras parades will be all or nothing.

I have read, agree and understand the above.

    Parade Attendance

Participation in as many parades as possible as a Fae is the expected goal for each member, but marching in at least one Mardi Gras parade per year is required to remain an active member. You are allowed 2 inactive seasons before you will be required to audition/apply again (with no guarantee of being chosen again). It should be noted that this is specific to Mardi Gras parades. Off-season parades such as Pride and Krewe of Boo, do NOT count towards your parade requirement.

By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read and understand the expectations as listed above. If I am unable to meet these expectations at any time, I will contact the board in a timely fashion. I understand that if I do not fulfill this agreement, I may not be allowed to participate in parades or other event opportunities. In addition, as stated in the Membership Contract, failure to adhere to these policies may result in termination of my membership.

    "Faelanthropy" Attendance Policy

One of the most important reasons for being a Fae is the opportunity to help better our city and its surrounding areas. Participation in philanthropic events is crucial to the members of Crescent City Fae.
Below are the expectations for the 2025-2026 Crescent City Fae philanthropic season. Please INITIAL EACH ITEM and SIGN BELOW indicating you understand and agree to abide by these policies. If for any reason you are unable to meet these expectations, please contact the Board as soon as possible.

To be eligible to march in parades and attend some special events:
Members must participate in 3 or more philanthropic activities. Participation may include event attendance, financial or item contribution or other support as approved by the Board. ONE of these credits MUST be on the ground or “OTG”. This means that though over the phone/web contributions may count for 2 of your 3, one must be you IN PERSON at an event. Your money and goods are SO valuable but, in many cases, your time is even better!

For a philanthropic event to qualify for credit, it must be an event that has been approved by the Board and is available to all members. While ALL philanthropy is crucial, events/donations made on your own accord will not qualify for credit to fulfill your membership obligations.

To qualify for Krewe of Boo IN ANY CAPACITY, you must have ONE (1) Faelanthropy credit prior to the parade roll date. To qualify for participation in St. Francisville/Holiday parades & Krampus IN ANY CAPACITY, you must have TWO (2) Faelanthropy credits prior to the parade(s) roll date(s). To qualify for participation in Mardi Gras parades IN ANY CAPACITY, you must have ALL (3 including OTG) credits.

    **Out of town members**
Your OTG credit may be done in your community through a national event that the Fae in New Orleans are also participating in. An approved out of town list will be available to you. The wardrobe and photo guidelines will be the same for all members.

Follow through. If a member commits to an event, that member is expected to be present, on time, representing the Fae to our high standards and ready to participate fully. We understand of course that emergencies and illness happen. Please alert the Board IMMEDIATELY if you will not be able to attend an event you committed to. If it becomes a pattern, it may result in membership termination or not being considered for special events in the future. Please understand that committing to an event and then not showing up reflects badly on not just you but your krewe as a whole.

You will be notified in writing if it is determined that you have missed too many events you've committed to and will be excluded from being able to appear at special events/performances for the remainder of the season.

    Rehearsal Attendance Policy

Rehearsals are a vital part of our organization. We strive to have a higher level of choreography and “polish” to our parading and performing. Rehearsals are important in improving physical condition, dance ability, overall appearance and coordination of the group plus promoting camaraderie among members. Fae is meant to be a good amount of work but also a ton of fun! Fae must be safe for all members and being well prepared is a big part of that safety. Below are the expectations for the rehearsal season. Please INITIAL EACH ITEM and SIGN BELOW indicating you understand and agree to abide by these policies. If for any reason you are unable to meet these expectations, please contact the Board ASAP.

Parades that will have auditions prior to acceptance as a dancer include but are not limited to: Krewe of Boo, St.
Francisville/Christmas or Holiday parades, Krampus & Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras parades will be all or nothing.
One audition to determine all dancing participants for the duration of all parades with Fae inclusion

All members must attend any mandatory pre-event rehearsal to be eligible for said event.

BE PUNCTUAL! Rehearsals begin within 5 minutes of start time. If you must come late, please do so quietly. Be sure to safely warm up before joining in. Remember that this is not only your rehearsal time but EVERYONE’S rehearsal time. Respect that everyone is giving their time to be at rehearsal.

Please respect the rehearsal leader’s time and your fellow Fae member's time by not talking loudly and being distracting to others while the leader/choreographer is actively teaching.

Please remember that choreographing and teaching are not easy tasks. Show the choreographer/teacher the utmost respect by offering your attention, patience and grace.

“Council”. A Board member will record and post Councils to our private Youtube page on Wednesday nights. This is to talk through any upcoming events, philanthropic needs/ideas and concerns. Please feel free to bring any questions/ideas/concerns you have. If you mu from the videos to the "Fae Q&A" WhatsApp group.

It is the responsibility of each member to watch these videos and ask any questions they may have. Not watching the videos and therefore being unaware of any changes or news will not be a valid excuse for any requirements missed by a member and may make them ineligible for an event or performance.

By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read and understand the expectations listed above. If I am unable to meet these expectations at any time, I will alert the Dance Chair as soon as possible. I understand that if I do not fulfill this agreement, I may not be allowed to participate in parades or other performance opportunities. In addition, as stated in the Member Contract, failure to adhere to these policies may result in termination of my membership.

    Throws Policy

Our hand designed signature throws are a wonderful part of our group. Included with your membership, you are given 5 signature blank throws of your choosing (Elemental Lanterns, Pixie Wands, Elvin Looking Spoons or Pan Flutes). By signing this contract you are agreeing to hand design, execute said design and return the 5 Signature Throws to the Throws Chair and/or committee by the designated due date before Mardi Gras. However, you have a few options to help alleviate the burden of this obligation, should you choose.

    1) You may choose to opt out of the throws. If you would like to completely forgo making throws, sign the "OPT OUT" space below and pay $20. This $20 will be a charitable donation to the chosen Fae Do Do charity for the year. THIS OPTION IS NOT ELIGIABLE FOR A FAELANTHROPY CREDIT. You will find the $20 option on the dues page when you go to pay your dues.

    2) You may give your throws to someone else. If someone else in the krewe is willing to complete your throws in addition to their own, this is allowed. HOWEVER, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEM BEING TURNED IN. If they are not turned in, you will be required to pay the $20 charity donation.
Failure to pay this fine will result in your ineligibility to roll in Mardi Gras parades for the season. Please alert the Throw Chair as to whom is taking your throws so they may help track this.

You do not have to choose the throw assigned to your character. Example: You are a Pan but wish to choose Water Sprite lanterns instead of Flutes.

If you lose your throws you will pay the $20 charity donation or you will not be eligible to roll in Mardi Gras parades for the season.

You are responsible for all FIVE (5) throws. If you do not turn in all 5, you will be charged accordingly at the cost per item. Failure to pay this fine will result in your ineligibility to roll in Mardi Gras parades for the season.

Should you complete all 5 signature throws early and wish to make more, please ask the Throws Chair and arrangements will be made. Your originally 5 throws must be turned in prior to receiving more. ALL policies apply to extra throws as well.

We have a few other hand designed throws throughout the season for different parades including Fifolet Orbs (Krewe of Boo), Wish Fae (St Francisville/Holiday) and St Nicholas Clogs (Krampus). Below you may sign up to receive these as well. Upon signing up to take and decorate one or more of these optional throws, you will be agreeing to turn them in or pay a replacement fine (to go to the charity) per item at the cost per item.

    Membership Driving

While being in more organizations than the Crescent City Fae is certainly allowed and celebrated, use of our social media and group chats for the explicit solicitation for other organizations is prohibited. Please do not share any posts explaining or offering membership, links to membership, deals, etc. These posts will be removed immediately and if it continues to happen, you may be removed from the groups.

    Logo & Likeness

The use of the Crescent City Fae logo and likeness is strictly prohibited unless permission has been given by the Founders. This includes wearing your Fae costume to non-sanctioned/approved events.

Krewe Trailer (known as “Faeler”) Rules 2025-2026

    1)      There will be no more than three (3) people on the Faeler at any given time. This includes the person inside the bathroom          area. EXECEPTIONS ARE PEOPLE SITTING WITH INJURY OR ILLNESS. Please do your best to limit your time on the Faeler            during parades when able. The Faeler is not meant to be a "float" to wave to the crowd and dance but a place for needed            rest in times of distress and/or injury.
     2)    When a line is needed for the bathroom, this will be formed on the ground behind the Faeler to the right. Allowing space            for people to get on & off.
    3)      At the end of a parade, a line will form behind the Faeler and ONE PERSON at a time will quickly remove their belongings          and EXIT the Faeler. This will take place BEFORE any bathroom use OR changing. *Emergencies excluded.
    4)      NO SMOKING ON THE FAELER AT ANY TIME. All smoking will be done away from the Faeler and away from lineup. VAPING           IS SMOKING!
    5)      In the event you are riding on the Faeler at any time that is NOT a parade, you must remain seated AT ALL TIMES.
    6)      As a member in good standing you will be provided a cubby, hanger and 1-gallon Ziploc bag for personal belongings.                   Personal items are not allowed anywhere else on the Faeler. If it doesn’t fit in one of those areas, it doesn’t roll on the               Faeler.
    7)      NO personal items will be placed in the bed or cab of the vehicle pulling the Faeler.
    8)      Water will ALWAYS be provided. Other beverages are permitted and may be placed in the coolers on the Faeler. You are               responsible for taking your leftover beverages at the end of the parade. Any items not taken will not be returned.
    9)      Per our new insurance policy no children will be allowed to ride on the Faeler or in the vehicle pulling the Faeler unless             accompanied by their legal guardian on a case by case basis.
    10)     Crescent City Fae is not responsible for anything left behind on the Faeler, lost or stolen.

Your electronic signature will act as your understanding and agreeing to these rules. Any member breaking these rules is subject to membership termination or restriction on a case by case basis.

    The Route

Please do not run up the middle or through the dance formation unless its an emergency. Arms move out fast and injuries can occur!

Please do not pick up and hand any missed throws (other krewes stuff not ours) to spectators while we are moving. This is a hazard. It is at your sole discretion to pick something up when we are stopped. Please do not feel obligated just because someone asks.

Please do not start or stop abruptly during filler songs. The person behind you doesn't know the amazing choreography in your head and it can cause injury or confusion.

Please be sure to tell friends and family what side you will be on in the formation. Sadly if they are on the wrong side you will just need to waive as we pass. Please under no circumstances cross the formation to the other side while we are moving and/or doing choreography.

The Crescent City Fae is not responsible or liable for any personal belongings brought to a parade or on the Faeler that could be lost, left behind or stolen

    Costume Requirements

*Wearing your full Fae costume to non-Fae events is not permitted except in special circumstances approved by the Board*

Individual character costume guidelines and rules will be given at Making the Magic. Each member will be required to follow the costume guidelines to be eligible for participation in any Fae event.

Should you choose to be more than one character per season, you must agree to and commit to the FULL COSTUME GUIDELINES AND RULES to be able to participate. Use of required costume pieces for one character while being another will be prohibited. Example: You may NOT use your Elemental Sprite corset as a piece of your Elf costume, etc. Please see the Costume Chair for more information and guidelines.

This contract supersedes all contracts before it
